In many aspects Nordic organisations are considered very innovative. On the other hand, much of innovation is happening in Asia. Focusing on the soft side of innovation, what can we learn from each other regarding:
Innovation driving sustainable business
- bridging the innovation gap between the Nordics and Indonesia –
ESustainable businesses deliver continuously evolving, sustainable products and services to the benefit of themselves, their business community as well as the society and world outside their business realm. They seamlessly integrate sustainability as a shared value in their ambition, deliverables, business model, value chain and leadership as well as in their social, operational and cultural environment.
Becoming and remaining sustainable requires constant renewal and innovation. Creating sustainable businesses driven by co-creative innovation has long been one key success factor for leading Nordic businesses. To them, innovation is more than the end-result of R&D – it is a mindset. To them, innovation is built on shared values, active knowledge sharing and constant capability development. Innovation is driven by educated people with a curious attitude working in an entrepreneurial and democratic idea culture. They fuel innovation by empowering leadership and a visionary strategy. And very often they engage the entire value chain in innovations striving for sustainable success to businesses and society.
For Nordic and Indonesian businesses to form successful and innovation-driven partnerships built on shared values of sustainability requires a mutual understanding of the importance and role of constant innovation throughout the value chain. In short, we need to have a common understanding of what innovation is, how it happens and what prevents it – and how we, by augmenting and integrating our innovation cultures and capabilities, can create sustainable success on organisational, regional, national and global level.
To fuel our thinking and open our horizons, we will be treated to two inspirational keynotes delivered by two true high-profile innovation thinkers and practitioners.
